Oh, The Places We've Lived!

We have been in our house for a year now--we moved at the very end of June 2008 and it hardly feels it! My grandmother and I were chatting recently and she mentioned that I should put a picture of our house on the blog--- so in honor of our 1 year I will do just that and throw in our 3 other houses too! For those of you who know me, you most likely already know that this is move #4 for us in 5 years of marriage....yes, 4 moves in 5 years. I have not regretted living so many places and we gained great friends along the way, experienced how things are done in other parts of the country, and have visited places that we might not have. Now with that said, it certainly has not been easy and this last move was particularly hard on me for many reasons, which is ironic b/c it should have been the easiest. This place is more familiar that any of the other places and my family and many friends are a mere 40 minutes away in the next town north. Nonetheless, here is a mini chronicle....

Pass Christian, Mississippi....

We had so much fun with this house and it sure was pink! We bought a flat bottom boat and we would ride all around all the bayou's and also take the short ride out into the gulf whenever we got a chance! Unfortunately, this house was leveled during hurricane Katrina. But fortunately, we were not living in it at the time. Brad lived in Pass Christian about a year before we got married. I moved there in August of 2004 and 4 months later in December we moved to Memphis.

Memphis, Tennessee....

We lived in a suburb of Memphis called Cordova, which is adjacent to Germantown, in the Cordova Country Club. It snowed the week we moved in--which it had not done in like a 100 years. Go figure. Our house was on the 14th green of the golf course. Behind the house there was a small pond that was part of the course, tons of ducks lived there and they would come into the yard when we started throwing the bread every day! We also got our fair share of golf balls in the yard, on the back deck, and one through the window! Eight months later it was off to Charleston.

Charleston (Mt. Pleasant), South Carolina....

We lived in a neighborhood off Highway 17 North called Park West---in the Wheatstone Subdivision. Our house was on Toomer Creek which feeds into the Wando River. We had the best neighbors, I posted about them a few months ago--click here to read the post. Brad and I lived in Mt. Pleasant for nearly 3 years before moving to the island.

The house style is called "Coastal Farmhouse". This a fairly new neighborhood and we are 1 of 4 houses that are built--I am sure you have remembered me mentioning our lack of neighbors! These pictures were taken before we moved in so things have changed just a bit--always a work in progress!

No plans to move as of yet, but it appears that there could be major changes to healthcare coming...

You have lived in some GORGEOUS homes! I think the one you're in now might be my favorite (but it's hard to pick because they're all neat in their own way)!

I'd love to see a photo tour of the inside - I bet it's as pretty as the outside.

I had never seen your Memphis house before -- it is so different from the normal coastal homes here! It was fun to walk down memory lane!

Love those houses! What neighborhood are you in now? We were just in Bluffton this past week at our family house. We were on the sand bar on Saturday. Sorry we missed you!
